The stress blend

Stress is one word doing the work of five different feelings. These are the remedies for the usual mix: too much landing at once, a tank that is actually empty, a refusal to stop, a fuse that has got shorter, and a head that stays at work long after you have left.

The five inside, and why each is there

Each one covers a different face of the same situation, and the blend is all of them together. Read any of them in full to see how much of it is yours, and buy them singly if you would rather mix your own.

When people reach for it

  • Everything has landed at once and you cannot decide what to do first
  • You snap at people over small things and regret it minutes later
  • You are exhausted and still adding things to the list
  • You leave work and your head does not

How to take it

Two drops of each of the five into a 30ml bottle of spring water and four drops from that four times a day. That is the blend as it stands, and it is where most people start.

It is also worth tailoring, because overwhelm, exhaustion and irritability are different problems that happen to share a name. Read the five above again and keep the two or three you genuinely recognized. A short bottle that describes you beats the full recipe taken on principle.

For the sharp moments inside a stressful stretch, the ready made crisis formula sits alongside this perfectly well: the blend for the pattern, the formula for the spikes.

The mixing guide walks through the whole method, bottle sizes and all.

Common questions

Which Bach flower remedy is best for stress?

It depends which stress you mean. If you are overwhelmed by a load you normally carry fine, Elm. If you are worn out and rest is not working, Olive. If you cannot stop working even though you are exhausted, Oak. If the tell is a short temper, Impatiens, and if it is a head that will not switch off, White Chestnut. Most stressed people recognize two or three of those at once, which is what a mix is for.

Is this for anxiety too?

Stress and anxiety are neighbors but not the same. If what you feel is pressure, load and irritability, this blend is the right area. If it feels more like fear, look at the fear group instead: Mimulus when you can name the worry, Aspen when you cannot, and Cherry Plum when the fear is of snapping under it all.

What about stress at work specifically?

The blend fits work stress well, and Elm is the one most office weeks call for, since it describes capable people temporarily swamped by a load they usually manage. If the real story is that you have been running on empty for months and calling it normal, read Oak and Olive first.

Can I take it with the crisis formula?

Yes, and they divide the work neatly. The crisis formula is for moments, the presentation or the difficult call, and this blend is for the pattern underneath them. If you are mixing your own bottle, a ready made crisis formula counts as one remedy at four drops.

How long should I take it?

Give it two weeks before you form a view, then carry on as long as it is earning its place. There is no dose to get right and no known way to take too much, so the usual approach is to keep going until you notice the bottle has stopped being needed.

A blend is one answer for everyone

If what you are carrying is a pattern rather than a situation, a remedy chosen for how you actually feel will fit better. The quiz narrows the 38 in about a minute.
