The Essence Guide

About this site

The Essence Guide is a plain guide to the 38 Bach flower remedies, built because the existing ones are hard to read.

Why it exists

The information about Bach remedies has been around for nearly a century, and most of it still reads like it. Descriptions tend toward the vague and the spiritual, sites are difficult to navigate, and it is genuinely hard to work out the difference between two remedies that sound almost identical.

None of that is a problem with the remedies. It is a problem with how they are written about. So this site does the same 38 entries with clearer language, concrete examples, and a structure that lets you find the right one in under a minute.

How the entries are written

Each remedy page starts from Dr Bach’s own description in The Twelve Healers, which is quoted in full on every entry so you can see the source. Around that we describe the state in ordinary modern language, with the kind of examples people actually recognize.

We put real effort into the comparisons, because that is where most people get stuck. Mimulus and Aspen, Olive and Hornbeam, Larch and Pine. Each entry says plainly what makes it different from the remedies it gets confused with.

The guides hold the longer reads: what the remedies are, how to take them, how they are made, and the story of the man who made them. We are also honest about the evidence, which you can read in full on the disclaimer page.

How it pays for itself

Through Amazon affiliate links, explained in full on the affiliate disclosure. There are no ads, no email capture, and no tracking beyond basic visit counts.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, or a description does not match your experience of a remedy, we would genuinely like to know. Corrections make the site better and we are quick to make them.
